QUIA Vocabulary Cards and Games

These QUIA materials are based on a 1200-word New Testament Greek vocabulary, which has the following features:

• the words are organized in morphological groups based on William D. Mounce's The Morphology of Biblical Greek
• these groups are further subdivided into subgroups of 10, for easy studying, and there are also compilation sets of multiple 10-card sets
• where possible, nouns and adjectives are also categorized by stress patterns
• the words were chosen based on their frequency, according to Warren C. Trenchard's Complete Vocabulary Guide to the Greek New Testament
• in general, these are words that appear 10 or more times in the New Testament, although some words were chosen, regardless of their frequency, to round out the morphological groups

The different QUIA activities are intended to help you practice the words in different ways:

• the Flashcards can help you learn the meanings of the words: start out by looking at the Greek and supplying the English, then flip the set and use the English as a prompt for the Greek... and always make sure you say the Greek word out loud! as loud as possible! (apologize to your roommate first, of course)
• the Matching Game is a very simple kind of practice, where you find out immediately if you have got the answer right or not; play the Matching Game as many times as it takes until you can complete all the matches effortlessly - making sure you say the Greek words out loud!
• the Concentrate Game is harder just because Concentration is a hard game to play in any language (note that you can adjust the size of the board by Changing Settings - the smaller the board, the easier it is to play!)
