Computer Readiness

The technical requirements for this online course are not very complicated:

  • Internet. In order to take this course you will need to have access to a computer that has an internet connection. A phone modem is fine (preferably a 56K modem). You will need to have a web browser so that you can look at webpages; Internet Explorer 5.5 is the recommended browser for this course. You may experience some difficulties if you use Netscape Communicator as your browser.
  • Email. You will also need to make sure that you have an email account that you check regularly. If you do not check your OU email regularly, make sure your OU email gets forwarded to the address that you check. Email communication is a very important part of this course. Please make sure you know how the OU email system works. You either need to check your OU email regularly, or make sure that it forwarded to an email address that you do check regularly.

Assignment: You should have already received an email from the instructor. Your assignment is to send a reply to that email. That's it! Now you are ready to go to the Blackboard Discussion Board...
