Vocabulary Worksheet Notes

The Vocabulary Worksheet has 3 columns. The English definition appears on the left, the Greek word on the right, with a blank in-between. Here are the ways you should use the Vocabulary Worksheet, printing out as many copies as you need to master each set of vocabulary.

Step 1. Greek prompt practice. Print out a Worksheet, and then use a blank sheet of paper to cover the English column. Using the Greek prompt, try to write the English definition. You can slide the blank sheet of paper down the page, checking your answers as you go.

Step 2. English prompt practice. Print out a Worksheet, and then use a blank sheet of paper to cover the Greek column. Using the English prompt, try to write the Greek word. Make sure you supply the rough breathing mark if there is an initial rough breathing! Plus, if you can you should try to mark an acute accent on the stressed syllable (don't worry about whether the Greek word is marked with an acute or a circumflex). You can slide the blank sheet of paper down the page, checking your answers as you go.

Make sure you have practiced Steps 1 and 2 before you do the self-test:

Step 3. Greek prompt self-test. Print out a Worksheet, and then use a blank sheet of paper to cover the English column. Using the Greek prompt, try to write the English definition for all the words. Do not check your work as you go along. Instead, wait until you are done, and then check your answers all at once. Repeat until you are able to get the answers all correct.

Step 4. English prompt self-test. Print out a Worksheet, and then use a blank sheet of paper to cover the Greek column. Using the English prompt, try to write all the Greek words. Make sure you supply the rough breathing mark if there is an initial rough breathing! Plus, if you can you should try to mark an acute accent on the stressed syllable (don't worry about whether the Greek word is marked with an acute or a circumflex). Do not check your work as you go along. Instead, wait until you are done, and then check your answers all at once. Repeat until you are able to get the answers all correct.
