6.40 Simple Sentences, with
Please remember that these are only suggested translations. Any translation
is just an approximation of the original and, by definition, there are always
multiple translations possible of any sentence, no matter how simple it might
|Preposition with Genitive
|περὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ λέγει.
||She speaks about the way. He is speaking about the road.
|μένομεν μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν.
||We stay with the disciples. We are staying with the disciples.
|Preposition with Dative
|μένομεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ.
||We stay in the desert. We remain in the desert.
|μένει ὁ θεὸς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
||God remains in the heavens. God stays in the heavens.
|Preposition with Accusative
|πέμπομεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς εἰς τὴν ἔρημον.
||We are sending the brothers into the desert. We send the brothers into
|λέγομεν πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφούς.
||I speak to the brothers. I am speaking to the brothers.
