I used the same approach with my Andrew Lang fairy tales website. This website contains hundreds of stories from Andrew Lang's "colored" fairy books (Crimson Fairy Book, Green Fairy Book, etc.), and I use the script to dynamically display a fairy tale on the front page of the site, making it fun for returning visitors.

In this case, because the fairy tales are quite long, I just display the beginning of the fairy tale in the script, with a link taking the viewer to the page where they can read the whole story:
