Brief Comments on the Latin:

1:4. The use of quod to introduce indirect statement is non-classical. Both lucem and quod esset bona depend on vidit ("God saw the light, that it was good").
1:11. The earth is to produce herbam (which is virentem et facientem semen) and lignum (pomiferum, faciens fructum).
1:12. And so the earth brought forth herbam (virentem et adferentem semen iuxta genus suum) lignumque (faciens fructum et habens unumquodqud sementem secundum speciem suam).
1:16. Note that luminare is a noun, third declension; plural, luminaria.
