Κόραξ νοσήσας εἶπε μητρί κλαιούσῃ
"μὴ κλαῖε, μῆτερ, ἀλλὰ τοῖς θεοῖς εὔχου
νόσου με δεινῆς καὶ πόνων ἀνασφῆλαι."
"καὶ τίς σε, τέκνον," φησί, "τῶν θεῶν σώσει;
τίνος γὰρ ὑπὸ σοῦ βωμὸς οὐκ ἐσυλήθη;"
