The poacher Dickon is taken into Nottingham, and is delivered into the hands of the evil King John.

Questions. Make sure you can answer these questions about what you just read:

  • why is the man Dickon going to be executed?
  • who is King John? what kind of character is he?
  • what prevents the executioner from hanging Dickon?
